Flowers by the month

carnationHappy Birthday! Who doesn’t love Birthday celebrations!? This is one of the well-known occasion where bringing flowers is a law! So here there, are the 12 months and their flower companions in which we all fit somewhere. Let’s start by order:

January. This month’s flower is the majestic creation of the Gods – The Carnation, this flower is an art with it’s amazing structure of the leaves and their sprayed colors. It is also included in many cover arts of books and musical albums.

February is the shortest month of the year but it seems that many great people were born then, like Abraham Lincoln, Bob Marley, Alessandro Marcello and many more. So they all had the pleasure to be considered protected and guarded by the powers of the beautiful Violet.

March is a month of the weather craziness where nature is in its beginning stages of rebirth and the first in sight is the Daffodil or the Narcissus which is the spring flower of honesty. April is awarded with one of the flowers of bliss – the Sweet Pea colored in white and pink and is a little fairy of beauty.

April is the only month that has 2 flowers to be recognized with; the other one is the Daisy that we all know is the most innocent plant.

June babies have the great pleasure to bear the queen of the flower kingdom – The Rose. With its variations of coloring the rose can be associated with love, passion and friendship.

July is the month of the Gods and most specifically the Delphinium Apollo, the God of Delphi which has its own flower named after him – the fun blue Delphinium is symbol of levity and the big-hearted.

August is considered the hottest month and it’s graced by the Gladiolus the multi colorful flower. The name comes from the Latin word (gladius) with its meaning of the sword. So all of you sunshine’s born that time of the year might consider yourself as strong and full of integrity people.

September it’s getting chilly but still we can enjoy the rays of sun. But as the fall is around the corner we start to think of the warmth of Love. The wildly red Aster is just that, the talisman of love and symbol of patience.

October is officially the fall month and we can fully start enjoying our favorite hot drinks and the yellow and brown patterns outside where the Marigold fits just perfect, while the meaning of this flower bring a little bit negativity (cruelty, jealousy), we can always ignore it and just enjoy the aesthetic beauty of it.

Chrysanthemum1November rain… the month of the golden inspiration for many great artists and the month of the Chrysantemum which comes from the Greek word (Chrys) or the golden. If you are born in November grace your home with the Chrysantemum and let it bring you good friends along and a great deal of loyalty!

December most people’s favorite! Probably it’s one of the greatest times of the year to be born, just one greater occasion to celebrate! So don’t forget the Poinsettia or the Star on the Christmas scene. As a gift or decoration it’s a sure thing for the festive spirits! At the end it’s great to know that for every Birthday there is a special flower to bring! 🙂
