Back in the day of Oscar Wilde, when all the dandies dominated the culture, it was customary to wear a flower on one’s self. Wilde, who desired to inspire some striking conversation, chose to wear a green rose. The language of flowers was an extremely popular subject at the time and hence the gesture was destined to instigate intrigue.
Flowers have made many appearances as human style has developed. From wall paper to perfume bottles, prints and designs after flowers have always been a common thing. They have, in fact, made a lot of headway in the world of fashion and are certainly here to stay.
This all being said, flowers are timeless. Go for the rose for the ultimate classic…but there is no need to stick to it. Either way, when it comes to sophistication, flowers certainly take a seat at the table.
